JEE Advanced 2018 Introduction
Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced), formerly the Indian Institutes of Technology .Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) is an annual engineering college entrance examination in India. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwhati ) under guidance of the Joint Admission Board(JAB). It is used as the sole admission test by the 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Other universities like the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and the premier Indian Institute of Science (IISc) also use the score obtained in JEE Advanced as the basis for admission.

JEE Advanced 2018 Eligibility Criteria
JEE Advanced 2018 is organized by IIT Kanpur, one of the seven zonal coordinating IITs under JAB for admission to Bachelor, Integrated Master and Dual Degree programs in all the IITs. Candidates must fulfill various criteria to take up JEE Advanced. IIT Kanpur has officially released the eligibility criteria which includes age limit, percentage required, performance in JEE Main, category the candidate belong to, qualification and nationality.
Candidates will have to fulfil the following criteria:
Criterion 1 - Performance in JEE (Main) 2018
Criterion 2 - Age limit
Criterion 3 - Number of attempts
Criterion 4 - Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination
JEE Advanced 2018 Application Form
JEE Advanced 2018 Application form Covers Online Registration Date, Steps, Fee Payment via Online Mode, Late Fee Payment, Uploading Documents etc. Registration details includes Name, DOB, Address, Mobile no, ID proof, Email Id.
Candidates can register for JEE Advanced 2018 through online mode only. The online registration will be started from 2nd May 2018. Only those candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2018 are eligible to fill the application form of JEE Advanced 2018.
The application procedure of JEE Advanced comprises of three steps -

JEE Advanced 2018 Time Table
The JEE Advanced Examination consists of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Both the papers are compulsory with the duration of 3 hours each. The questions will be in both English and Hindi languages. The candidates will have the option to choose the preferred language during the examination.

JEE Advanced 2018 Exam centres
JEE Advanced 2018 will be held across select cities and town both in India and Abroad on 20th May, 2018. The exam will be conducted by one of the 7 zonal coordinating IITs under JAB every year, and for the current year JEE Advanced 2018 will be set up in 161 cities.
Please note that candidates will have to compulsorily choose 5 exam centres/cities/towns from a zone of their choice at the time of online registration.
Efforts will be made to allot the city / town from among the candidate’s choice but a different city / town in the same zone may be allotted under exceptional circumstances. Request for change of city / town will NOT be entertained under any circumstance. Tentative list of JEE Advanced 2018 exam centres is given below. The final list of exam cities will be notified before the start of JEE Advanced Registration.
JEE Advanced 2018 Admit Card/Hall Ticket
JEE Advanced 2018 Admit card will be released online by its organizing authority, IIT Kanpur on its official website www.jeeadv.ac.in on 14th May, 2018 (10:00 IST) and candidates can download the JEE Advanced admit card till 20th May, 2018, (09:00 IST). Enter Registration Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email ID to download the admit card.
Steps to download JEE Advanced 2018 Admit card/Hall ticket:

- Click on the link -Download Admit Card for JEE (Advanced) 2018
- Enter Registration Number, Date of Birth, Email ID and Phone Number
- Click on ‘Login’
- Download JEE Advanced Admit Card and take its print out.
JEE Advanced 2018 Exam Pattern
The JEE Advanced examination 2018 will be online based exam which consists of two papers (Paper 1 and paper 2)and both the papers are compulsory. The question paper will be asked in both (English & Hindi) languages. The duration for each paper will be 3 hours.
- JEE Advanced comprises of 2 papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates must appear for both papers i.e., both papers are mandatory.
- Each paper will have 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Marking scheme – may have Full marks, Partial marks, Zero marks and Negative marks.
- Exam will be conducted both in English and Hindi.
- Type of questions include Objective type and Numerical.
- IIT Kanpur may come up with some changes in the exam pattern of JEE Advanced 2018 as the exam will be completely online from the year 2018. The details will be shared in due course of time. JEE Advanced 2018 Answer Keys
IIT Kanpur will release the JEE Advanced 2018 answer key tentatively in the 1st week of June, after the examination. The official JEE Advanced answer key 2018 will be released separately for Paper I and Paper II, as per the respective codes.
The examination conducting authority will give a few days in the for candidates to raise/submit their objections/feedback/comments. IIT Kanpur also sends the optical response sheets on the registered email IDs, before the release of the JEE Advanced answer key 2018 for candidates to check their recorded responses, because the exam is conducted in online mode for the first time.
Candidates can check their recorded responses by logging in. Candidates can download JEE Advanced 2018 answer key and compare their responses with it. Candidates can predict their probable score in the national level engineering entrance test.
JEE Advanced 2018 Results
JEE Advanced 2018 Results will be Declared on 10th June 2018. Details on All India ranking(AIR), Rank card is mentioned along with the Steps to Check Results, Rank list and Tie Breaking Criteria.
Results for the JEE Advanced 2018 will be declared on 10th June 2018 by IIT Kanpur. Category wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful students can be seen on the online portal only after the results are declared. Also text messages are sent to the candidates on their registered numbers.
Individual Rank cards will not be sent to any of the candidates. However if a candidate qualifies in JEE Advanced 2018, and fills up choices for the seat allotment process does not guarantee to get admissions in IITs. Admission will depend on the availability of seats during the rounds of seat allotment.
JEE Advanced 2018 Cutoff
JEE Advanced 2018 Cutoff ensures candidates eligibility for counselling by announcing the Top 20 Percentile, Rank list based on the Categories, along with Subject Wise & Aggregate Minimum Marks.
IIT Kanpur will release the cutoff marks for JEE Advanced 2018.Candidates have to secure a rank above JEE Advanced 2018 cut-off to secure a seat. The cut-off of JEE Advanced 2018will release the cut-off once the result of the entrance test will be declared.
Cut off marks are the minimum marks that you need to score to crack the exam. The candidates who score equal or more than the JEE Advanced Cut Off 2018 will be allowed to participate in the JEE Advanced counselling process.
JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling
JEE Advanced Counselling 2018 will be made available by Joint Seat Allocation Authority(JoSAA) all the candidates eligible for admission will have to participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their choices of the courses. Around 97 institutes participate in Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counselling.
JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling will be conducted in online mode only after the declaration of JEE Advanced Result.
- JEE Advanced is conducted for candidates aspiring admission to 4-year B.Tech program or 5-year Integrated B.Tech program for various courses at various IITs across India. - Minimum eligibility to participate in counselling process - 75% aggregate marks in class XII or a good rank in JEE Advanced
- Around 23 IITs participate in the process and a total of 166 streams and 79 streams will be available for 4-year and 5-year course respectively.
JEE Advanced 2018 Seat Allotment
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will hold the JEE Main 2018 seat allotment for all the qualified candidates based on their All India Rank (AIR) of the engineering entrance exam.
The JEE Advanced 2018 seat allotment would be conducted online on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced and The choices filled by them during choice filling and locking.
Seat allotment for qualified students has been divided into 2 categories:
- On the basis of Date of Birth (DOB)
- Percentage of disability
Changes in JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Process
Eligible candidates can withdraw their seats in any of the counselling rounds except the last round. The introduction of seat withdrawal option by the JoSAA officials will be significant in reduction of the number of unfilled seats at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs

JEE Advanced 2018 Reservation Category contains the No of Seats based on Category, Quotas (Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(ST), Person with Disabilities(PWD), Defense Service, Foreign Nationals, Supernumerary Seats for Females.
