IIT Kanpur will release the cutoff marks for JEE Advanced 2018.Candidates have to secure a rank above JEE Advanced 2018 cut-off to secure a seat. The cut-off of JEE Advanced 2018will release the cut-off once the result of the entrance test will be declared.

Cut off marks are the minimum marks that you need to score to crack the exam. The candidates who score equal or more than the JEE Advanced Cut Off 2018 will be allowed to participate in the JEE Advanced counselling process.

What is JEE Advanced Cut off 2018?

The JEE Advanced exam which is conducted by the IIT Kanpur will release a set of cut-off marks in their official website after the declaration of the result.

  • Cut off marks depends upon the amount of difficulty in theJEE Advanced exam. If the question paper is difficult the JEE Advanced cut-off will be low or If the question paper is a bit easy then the cut-off will be a bit High.
  • Among the last few years there is much increase in the cut-off marks.
  • The Cut off is higher every year that shows growing competition for JEE Advanced Exams.
  • Candidates who wants to attend the counselling process must get the same marks or more marks than the given cut-off marks.

The marks which a candidate obtained in mathematics of JEE Advanced 2017 are equal to the marks scored in mathematics (paper 1 and paper 2). Marks obtained in Physics and Chemistry will be calculated the same way.The aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in JEE Advanced 2017 is the sum of the marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

JEE Advanced Cut Off 2017 for PWD Category

PWD(Person With Disability). Candidates who got marks less than JEE Advanced 2017 cut off were not allowed to be a part in the counselling process. PWD candidates were are not allowed to take admission in the courses like mining, geophysics, mechanical etc. even though they got more than cut off marks in JEE Advanced 2017.

Cut-off marks for the top 20 percentile

  • The category-wise cut-off marks for the top 20 percentile are done based on the marks obtained by the candidates who pass their respective board exam in the particular year.
  • The cut-off marks for PwD candidates will be lowest of the cut-off marks among GEN, OBC-NCL, SC and ST categories.
  • 20 percentile cut-off for the academic year 2018 will be considered for the candidates who pass the Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2018.
  • Candidates who appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2017 and wish to (or have to) reappear in 2018 with the objective to qualify through top 20 percentile cut-off criteria, should reappear in all the subjects. For such candidates, top 20 percentile cut-off for 2018 will be considered.
  • In case a Board does not provide information about the cut-off for the top 20 percentile, the candidate will have to produce a certificate from the respective Board stating that he/she falls within the top 20 percentile of successful candidates. If the candidate fails to do so, then the cut-off marks, in the respective categories, for the CBSE will be used.
