MHT CET 2018 Eligibilty criteria

MHT CET is prescribed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. It is the authority which regulates MHT CET examination. It is a state level examination which is organized for providing admission to the UG courses, i.e. engineering and technology, pharmacy & Pharm.D and agriculture.

The eligibilty criteria includes requirements related to domicile, age, educational qualification, qualifying exam and the marks scored in it, subject combination in the qualifying test, etc.For admissions into the participating institutes of the state level engineering entrance exam through MHT CET cell all candidates should fulfill the MHT CET eligibility criteria 2018. If candidates is found ineligible at any stage of the admission procedure, would be disqualified, even if they have qualified the examination.

Eligibility for admission to first year Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy, Pharm D. courses

The candidates who have passed/appearing in the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and should be a citizen of India.such candidates are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET 2018. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET 2018.

  1. Candidature Type
    1. Maharashtra State Candidature:A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.
      Type Eligibility Criteria
      Type A Candidates, those pass 10th & also 12th or Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra state.
      Candidates, those have a domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra.
      Type B Candidates, those not fall in Type A, but those fathers or mother is domiciled in Maharashtra & have domicile certificate
      Type C Candidates, those not fall in the Type A & B but those fathers or mother is a government employee of India & posted in Maharashtra State before last date of submission of application for CAP.
      Type D Candidates, those not fall in any of the Type A, B & C but those fathers or mother is an employee or retired employee of Government of Maharashtra.
      Type E Candidates who pass 10th & 12th examination from a recognized board situated in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.
    2. All India Candidature: Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible in this criteria.
    3. Minority Candidature: Candidates belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from the State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible in this Category.
    4. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:
      1. The children of the citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or are from the unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities; or
      2. The children of the officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission; or
      3. The children of the staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible in this category.

        Note:However as preference is given to the J & K Migrant candidates appeared for JEE(Main) 2018 over MHT-CET 2018 are advised to appear for JEE(Main) 2018.

    5. Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National .Such types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT CET 2018.

      Note:

      1. It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B.E./B. Tech. However All India Candidature & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidates may or may not appear for MHT-CET 2018 as Score of JEE(Main) Paper I shall be preferred over MHT-CET 2018 for admission to B.E./B. Tech.
      2. It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature All India Candidature, & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature seeking admission to B. Pharm. / Pharm. D.
  2. Eligibility Criterion as per notification dated 24 April 2017 or its amendment from time to time:

    Eligibility conditions and requirements for admissions to

    1. Engineering / Technology
      1. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate:
        • The Candidate should be an Indian National
        • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects as Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational, and should have been obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together; and the marks obtained in MHT-CET 2018. Or
        • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology course and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)
        • Or Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC. and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
      2. All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates:

        • The Candidate should be an Indian National
        • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects as Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational and must have obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and with Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and Obtained score in JEE(Main) Paper I or MHT-CET 2018.
        • Or Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only)
        • Or Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by University Grants Commission and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
    2. Pharmacy
      1. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates
        • The candidate should be an Indian National
        • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects as Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together
        • Obtained Score in MHT-CET 2018.
    3. Pharm D
      1. Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature Candidates
        • The candidate should be an Indian National
        • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects as Mathematics/Biotechnology /Biology and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the above subjects taken together
        • Or Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board and having approval of competent central authority and State Government and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least 45 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging only to Maharashtra State)
        • The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in the MHT-CET 2018.

Note:

  • Eligibility criteria for Candidates belonging to Person with Disability: In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates (i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) Candidate type- P1, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic Candidate type -P3), provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.
  • Admission to Mining Engineering course: Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

Eligibilty for admissios to first year professional degree courses in agriculture universities

Candidates who have passed/appearing in the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and must be a citizen of India. Such candidates are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET 2018. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET 2018.

Candidature Type

  1. Maharashtra State Candidature:The Candidates having Domicile of Maharashtra State / School Leaving Certificate which as the place of birth from Maharashtra/birth Certificate issued by the competent authority from Maharashtra are eligible under this Category.
  2. Other State Candidature: Candidates who are having Domicile Certificate/Residential Certificate / Residence and date of birth Certificate issued from the competent authority other than Maharashtra state are eligible in this category.
  3. Minority Candidature: Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
  4. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:(applicable only for constituent / aided colleges):
    1. The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities or
    2. The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible in this category
    3. Children of NRI, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National. Such types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET 2018.

Note: It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2018 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Other State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to undergraduate courses in agriculture universities. But other common entrance tests such as JEE / NEET / AIEEA-UG (ICAR, New Delhi conducted All India Entrance Examination Test for Admission) will also be considered equivalent to MHT-CET for admission.

  1. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Sc. (Honours) Agriculture
    • XII Std.(Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology /Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Inter Agriculture (with Physics, Chemistry) and English.
    • The obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCB / PCM) of the respective year conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology / Mathematics must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  2. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Sc. (Honours) horticulture
    • XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Inter Agriculture (with Physics, Chemistry) and English.
    • The obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCB / PCM) of the respective year conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology / Mathematics must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  3. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Sc. (Honours) Forestry
    • XII Std.(Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Inter Agriculture (with Physics, Chemistry) and English.
    • Obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCB) of the respective year conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology/Mathematics must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  4. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)
    • XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology.
    • The obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCM) of the respective year which is conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  5. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Tech. (Food Technology )
    • XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology.
    • Obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCM) of the respective year conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  6. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science
    • XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English
    • Obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCB/PCM) of the respective year which is conducted by the competent authority.
    • iii. The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology / Mathematics must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
  7. First year of four year integrated programme leading to B.Tech. (Bio-Technology)
    • XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination, with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English and
    • Obtained score in Common Entrance Test (PCB/PCM) of the respective year conducted by the competent authority.
    • The candidate who have passed qualifying examination without Biology / Mathematics must have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.

Note:

  1. The Candidate should be a citizen of India.
  2. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination / (XII Std.-Science) securing not less than 50% marks for General category (Open) and 40% marks in aggregate for reserved categories (SC/ST/VJa/NTb /NTc /NTd / OBC / SBC).
  3. The candidate other than Maharashtra State (OS) and Institutional quota will be admitted through MHT-CET / JEE / NEET / All India Entrance Examination Test for Admission (AIEEAUG conducted by ICAR, New Delhi)
  4. Admission to all Undergraduate degree programmes under State Agriculture Universities shall be on the basis of 70% marks obtained in CET conducted by competent authority [MHT-CET / JEE / NEET / All India Entrance Examination Test for Admission (AIEEA-UG conducted by ICAR, New Delhi)] and 30% marks of total percentage at qualifying examination / (XII Std.-Science) and the other weightages will be as per the existing provisions / rules of MCAER, Pune.
  5. These rules of eligibility and requirement for admission to undergraduate professional degree courses of State Agriculture Universities shall also be applicable to all constituent and affiliated aided colleges.
  6. Eligibility criteria for Candidates belonging to Person with Disability: In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates, provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.
