WBJEE 2018 Introduction

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(WBJEE) is a state-government controlled centralized test, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to many private and governmental medical and engineering institutions in West Bengal. The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduation (also known as Bachelors) courses. The exam can be taken by those who studied Pure Science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) is an exam conducted for UG courses, where candidates who have qualified can secure admissions for UG courses in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

WBJEE 2018 eligibility criteria constitutes different categories such as nationality, age, academic qualification, domicile and more which will have to be fulfilled by the candidates. If the eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2018 is not satisfied by the candidate, then they will not be allowed to attempt the entrance examination. Candidates are required to have qualified 10+2 (or equivalent) examination to be eligible for WBJEE admissions. Domicile requirement will be different for the various type of participating institutes, also Institute specific eligibility criteria are given.

WBJEE 2018 neither verify the information provided by the candidate during on line application nor verify any certificate of date of birth, domicile, income, reservation category, academic qualification etc., for deciding the eligibility of the candidate. Admit cards are issued only on the basis of the information candidate has provided. Also, there is no scope of changing/correcting any information after the last date of online application.

WBJEE 2018 Application Form

WBJEE 2018 Application form has been released on 19th December, 2017 and candidates can submit the application form online till 19th January, 2018. Candidates must fill the necessary details in the Application form correctly and submit it before deadline.

Important Instructions for Online Application:

  1. Candidates must go through the Information Bulletin carefully before attempting for online application. Once an application is received, it will be construed that the candidate agrees to all terms & conditions, rules & regulations stipulated in the Information Bulletin and notices published by the Board for the said purpose. Any application not in compliance with the conditions specified in the Information Bulletin is liable to be rejected.
  2. Application for WBJEE-2018 has to be done online only. There is no printed application form available.
  3. Ensure filling genuine application form available on line at www.wbjeeb.nic.in

WBJEE 2018 Time Table

The WBJEE 2018 Examination is conducted in offline mode(pen and paper mode). The Exam will be held on 22nd April 2018.The Duration for WBJEE 2018 is 4 hours i.e 2 hours for paper1 and 2 hours paper 2

WBJEE 2018 Admit Card

WBJEE Admit card 2018 has been released on 10th April, 2018 on official website of WBJEE. The exam will be conducted on 22nd April, 2018 in Offline mode for Paper I and Paper II.

  3. Step 3: Enter Application number, Password along with Security pin

WBJEE 2018 Exam Pattern

WBJEE(West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board in the offline mode on April 22, 2018. Details about the mode of exam, duration, type and total number of questions, total marks awarded, marking scheme, sections-Three sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be involved the examination and each section will further by divided into three categories. The marking scheme of the three categories will be different.

WBJEE 2018 Answer Keys

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board will release the WBJEE 2018 answer key in online mode for all the candidates who appeared in the WBJEE entrance exam. The WBJEE answer key 2018 will help candidates check the answers with the answer keys given.

WBJEEB will first release the preliminary answer key of WBJEE 2018 and candidates will have the option to challenge it, if they are not satisfied with the answers given in it. After the valid challenges are considered, the board will release the final WBJEE answer key 2018. It is important for candidates to know that while challenging the WBJEE 2018 answer key, they will have to produce valid proofs to support it and also have to pay the specified amount. The payment for challenging the answer key of WBJEE 2018 can be made online through net banking, credit card, debit card or Allahabad Bank challan.

WBJEE 2018 Exam centre

The exam centres of WBJEE 2018 are venues where the entrance examination will be conducted. WBJEE 2018 is a state level entrance exam, with most of the exam centres of WBJEE 2018 located within the state; it also has exam centre in Assam and Tripura. While filling the application form of WBJEE 2018, candidates can fill in minimum three preferred choices. WBJEEB will try to allot the first preference of candidate amongst the three selected exam centres of WBJEE 2018.

The WBJEE 2018 exam will be conducted across 22 districts among which 20 are in West Bengal and rest 2 districts are outside the state. No request for change of allotted WBJEE exam centre 2018 will be entertained under normal circumstances. The board of WBJEE has all the right to give any examination centre under unavoidable circumstances.

WBJEE 2018 Results

WBJEE 2018 Results will be declared on 5th June, 2018 (tentative) and prior to results declaration, The WBJEE Board will release Model Answer keys followed by Final answer keys, candidates can challenge the Model Answer keys for which they will have to pay required fee. Final result will be published in the form of Rank card which contains all relevant ranks, total scores etc.

WBJEE 2018 Cutoff

WBJEE 2018 Cutoff is the minimum marks that has to be secured by the candidates in order to be eligible for Counselling and Admission. Cutoff for WBJEE will be released in the month of June 2018. The qualified candidates can then participate in further rounds and secure admission in Universities, Self Financed Institutions and Government colleges/Institutes.

WBJEE 2018 Counselling

Candidates who will qualify in the WBJEE Exam can participate in the WBJEE 2018 counselling. The counselling process of WBJEE 2018 will begin tentatively from the 2nd week of June in online mode. The WBJEE 2018 e-counselling of will be held in three rounds. Candidates have to register themselves first to participate in the WBJEE counselling 2018, pay the counselling fee and fill their choices of courses and colleges.

WBJEE 2018 Reservation

WBJEEB provides reservation of seats for students under reserved category depending on the category. Certificates should be produced for the reservation at the time of WBJEE Counselling.The reservation of seats is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD category students and those who fall under Defense quota.

The WBJEE 2018 Board doesn’t verify the information provided at the time of registration and there is no provision for uploading such certificates while filling WBJEE application form. To avail reservation of WBJEEB 2018, candidates must mention their correct category during the registration.

The WBJEE 2018 Reservation can be claimed only by the candidates who possess a domicile in the state of West Bengal. Different rules regarding WBJEE 2018 Reservation are applicable for different universities and institutes.

WBJEE 2018 Seat Allotment

Candidates will be allotted a seat in the participating institutions as per their merit and the choice of courses and institutes. The seat allotment will be done online based on the candidates rank in WBJEE 2018, preference and availability of seats. Candidates will have to login by using their credential to check their allotment. They should also pay the fees .

Document Verification

The candidates will have to verify their documents and pay the fees at the reporting centre as described below. The list of reporting centres will be given after the WBJEE Board announces reporting centres list.
